Srinagar, 19th Nov: Youth President Mudasir Karim on Wednesday issued a statement on X, highlighting the alarming disparity in risk allowances between the Jammu & Kashmir Police and other central forces operating in high-risk zones.
Mudasir Karim said that Jammu and Kashmir Police officers risk their lives every single day, and their families silently bear that burden with them. He added that the sacrifices of these officers are real and constant from facing terror threats to participating in dangerous operations and enduring long nights on duty yet their risk allowance remains shockingly low.
He pointed out that while a Jammu and Kashmir Police constable receives only ?75–?100 per month and a Deputy Superintendent of Police receives around ?250, their counterparts in Central Armed Police Forces such as the Central Reserve Police Force deployed in similar high-risk areas receive approximately ?Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel17,300 per month for Inspectors and up to ?25,000 for senior officers.
“These men and women put their lives on the line, not just out of duty, but for their families knowing that a single moment can mean death or lifelong disability,” Mudasir Karim said. “This is not merely about fairness; it is about respecting their courage and ensuring their families are secure.”
He earnestly urged the Home Minister Amit Shah and the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to swiftly review and revise the risk allowance for Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel. He emphasized that the force deserves dignity, security, and compensation that genuinely reflect the sacrifices they make every day for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
