Employees on field duty must submit geo-tagged photos; non-compliance may attract disciplinary action
Bandipora, July 24 (KNS): In a move aimed at improving punctuality and accountability within the Health Department, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Bandipora has issued a circular directing all Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) to ensure strict adherence to the Aadhaar-enabled Biometric Attendance System (BAS) for all employees across health institutions in the district.
The directive comes in the wake of reports that many employees have not been marking their attendance regularly through the BAS system, undermining efforts to maintain transparency in government functioning. Locals also complain that many doctors and paramedic staff reach offices late or don't visit the hospitals at all at times, especially in Primary Health Centres and District Hospitals.
According to the circular, all employees are now mandated to register their biometric attendance both at the time of arrival and departure.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelDDOs have been instructed to monitor attendance reports daily and promptly report any irregularities, including habitual latecomers, to the competent authority.
The order also makes provisions for employees who are engaged in field visits or official duties outside the office. Such employees are now required to send geo-tagged photographs along with a visit report to their respective DDOs as proof of duty.
The CMO has warned that any laxity in implementing or monitoring these attendance norms will be “viewed seriously” and may lead to disciplinary action.
The directive is part of broader efforts to enforce discipline, improve service delivery, and ensure optimal utilisation of staff across healthcare facilities in the district.(KNS)
