NC remains a strong party, internal grievances a family matter: Salman Sagar

Srinagar, Oct 31 (KNS): Senior National Conference leader Salman Sagar on Saturday dismissed reports of growing internal differences within the party, describing the grievances as an internal family matter and asserting that the party remains strong.

Speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) MLA Sagar said a recent meeting of senior party leaders, including former legislators, was a routine gathering that had been unnecessarily amplified by the media.

He said differences and grievances were natural in any organisation, adding that the level of resentment was not as serious as being projected.

“Small things keep happening in families. This is our family matter. The resentment is not as much as you people are projecting,” he said.

On the reported grievances among senior leaders, Sagar said National Conference president Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah would listen to their concerns.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He said the leaders could submit a memorandum, adding that issues found genuine and justified by Farooq Abdullah would be addressed.

Sagar also rejected speculation surrounding the reported change in the party's general secretary post, saying it was a temporary administrative arrangement as the incumbent had sought some time.

Referring to senior leaders Mian Altaf Ahmad, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi and Hasnain Masoodi, he said they remained integral to the party.

“They are not going anywhere. They are the pillars of the National Conference,” he said.

Asserting that the party would overcome any challenges, Sagar said the National Conference had been a strong political force and would continue to remain so. (KNS)
