Bandipora, September 1 (KNS) : The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Bandipora has issued a strict directive to all doctors and medical staff in the district following reports of malpractice, negligence, and non-compliance with prescribed duties.
The circular, in possession of KNS, states that some doctors were promoting branded medicines over generic drugs, a violation of government service and conduct rules. To curb this, all Block Medical Officers (BMOs) and Medical Superintendents of DH/SDH have been directed to conduct prescription audits fortnightly and take strict action against violators.
The CMO also noted that despite sufficient MBBS doctors at various health centres, night duties were being assigned to ISM doctors/MLHPs, adversely affecting patient care.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelSuch practices have been strictly prohibited, and emergencies must now be handled only under the supervision of MBBS doctors, with each medical officer performing at least two 24×7 duties weekly.
Additionally, the circular stressed adherence to dress code, including wearing aprons with nameplates, and accurate documentation of patient details in IPD files. Performance regarding Electronic Medical Records (EMRS) on the JK eSahaj portal has been found unsatisfactory, and defaulting doctors may face salary stoppage, with DDOS held accountable.
The CMO Bandipora emphasised that strict compliance is mandatory, and any deviation will be dealt with seriously to ensure quality healthcare services in the district. (KNS)
