Srinagar, Sep 1 (KNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday expressed gratitude to Union Home Minister Amit Shah for visiting Jammu and Kashmir to take stock of the flood situation.

He said the visit highlights the Centre’s commitment and will contribute to better coordination in relief and rehabilitation measures.

Omar, who attended the review meeting chaired by the Home Minister, shared his remarks in a post on X. “Attended the review meeting chaired by Hon’ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji on the flood situation in J&K. He further noted that the government’s immediate focus remains on providing timely assistance to affected families and ensuring effective rehabilitation. “Our priority remains timely relief, rehabilitation and rebuilding lives with resilience,” Omar added.

The Chief Minister said the combined efforts of the Union and the Union Territory administrations will be crucial in addressing the damage caused by the floods and in supporting communities in their recovery.(KNS).
