Srinagar, Oct 18 (KNS): A Youth Congress leader on Sunday strongly condemned the reported attack on a bus carrying Kashmiri passengers in Karnal, calling it a "disturbing reminder" of how hatred and divisive thinking are threatening the country's unity and brotherhood.
In a statement issued here, Yasir Mandoo said it was "deeply painful" to see people being targeted because of their identity or where they come from.
"India is a country of many religions, cultures and regions, and our strength has always been in living together with dignity and respect. Every Indian who believes in our Constitution and humanity must condemn such acts without hesitation," he said.

Mandoo demanded an impartial investigation into the incident and urged the authorities to identify and take strict legal action against everyone involved.
He said no citizen should have to fear for their safety because they are Kashmiri or belong to any particular community or region.
"Those responsible must be held accountable and the government must ensure the safety and dignity of all citizens. We cannot allow hatred to become normalised in our society. The people of this country deserve peace, justice and the freedom to travel and live without fear," he said. (KNS)
