Srinagar, Oct 15 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) on Thursday condemned the reported use of abusive language against JKAS officer Beenish Wani during a Mission YUVA review meeting in Srinagar and demanded a time-bound, impartial inquiry into the incident.
EJAC President Wajahat Hussain Durrani called for appropriate action against anyone found responsible, saying such conduct, if established, would undermine the dignity and decorum expected in public service.
In a statement issued through EJAC spokesperson Mir Bashir Ahmad, Durrani said differences of opinion during official proceedings must be handled professionally, without compromising the dignity of government employees.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He stressed that every employee, irrespective of rank or position, deserves respect in the workplace.
The statement comes amid controversy over a reported confrontation between senior IAS officer Kumar Rajeev Ranjan and Assistant Director Beenish Wani during a Mission YUVA meeting at the Civil Secretariat on October 14.
EJAC urged the government to establish the facts without delay and ensure accountability in accordance with service rules.
The employees' body said a fair inquiry and appropriate action were necessary to prevent similar incidents and maintain professional standards within the administration. (KNS)
