Srinagar, Mar 30 (KNS): The Food Safety Department Srinagar has sealed a tea blending unit after a viral video showed unhygienic processing practices, officials said on Monday
Taking cognisance of the video circulating on social media, a team of Food Safety Officers conducted a raid at the location. During the inspection, officials found tea blending and packing being carried out on the floor in unhygienic conditions.
The processing area has been sealed until further orders, and two samples of tea — one loose and one packed — have been collected and sent for laboratory analysis, officials said.
The department has directed all food business operators to maintain hygiene standards at their premises and warned that violations will invite action under the Food Safety and Standards Act.(KNS).
