Srinagar, Aug 20(KNS): Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Krew area of Pampore in South kashmir's Pulwama district, police said on Friday morning. 

An official told Kashmir news service (KNS), that the Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Krew area, following inputs about the presence of militants there. 

He said the search operation turned into an encounter after militants opened fire at a search party of the forces, who retaliated. In the exchange of firing, two militants were killed, the official said. 

He said the identities of killed militants is being ascertained while the group affiliation of the slain is said to Hizbul-Mujahideen militant outfit.

He also said that the Search operation in the area is still going on. "Incriminating materials including arms & ammunition recovered, " the official added.(KNS).
