Strongly reacting against the provocative statements and threats by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), the Freedom Party chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah said Kashmiris aren’t among “those succumbing to intimidations”. “We’ll continue our struggle and resist every anti-Kashmir move tooth and nail,” he said in a statement to KNS.
Pertinently, VHP leader Leela Krishan Sharma Friday warned of blocking food supplies to Kashmir if beef is not banned in valley.
Shah while vehemently condemning the provocative statement termed it a “fascist mindset” of VHP and said the Muslims of Kashmir will not, in any way, get scared of such intimidations. “We will not make Halal Haram for ourselves at the diktats of these communal forces. If they (VHP) think they will make us succumb to their non-sense threats, they are living in fool’s paradise. This is sheer madness on their part.”
He said before India occupied the territory of Jammu and Kashmir we used to trade through Jhelum Valley road. “If they talk of blocking the supply, it makes no difference to us.”
Over passing of the said bill in so-called state assembly, Shah said, “In 1862, the then Maharaja, in order to please a particular section of society, banned beef and since then some dynastic rulers didn’t even try to revoke the law just to be on chair and appease their masters in Delhi.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel”
Shah while expressing strong resentment over the arrest of Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) chief Syeda Aasiya Andrabi warned government of serious repercussions “if any untoward happens with her”.
He said arresting DeM chief of waving Pakistani flag is “illogical”. “This is not any unprecedented act – to raise Pakistani flag – in Kashmir. It’s happening here since 1947 and is a tradition of expressing love for that nation.”
Freedom Party chairman also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the attack on Pakistani air force base in Peshawar in which several Pak forces were martyred. He said Pakistan continues to be target of “enemies from different sides” who “are hell bent to destabilize the nation”.
Praying for integrity, safety and security of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shabir Ahmad Shah expressed hope that the country will rise strong in “rooting out enemies from its soil”.
Shah severely condemned the continuing arrest spree and nocturnal raids of youth from nook and corner of the valley saying the police under a well-planned strategy is ruining the career of youth by arresting them. He warned of massive public outcry “if arrests are not stopped forthwith”.
