Says BJP 'selling what Congress built in last 70 years, Admits several party leaders ran away from party, but workers still standing with her

Shopian, Aug 25 (KNS): People's Democratic Party's president, Mehbooba Mufti Wednesday said that those who raise their voices against the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), are being put behind bars in India.

Talking to media in Shopain after workers convention, Mehbooba said that anyone who speaks or raises their voice against BJP are being put behind bars so the people of Kashmir should not be sad about this as it is their routine work now.

She also said that the present government led by the BJP was "selling" what Congress built in 70 years.

She said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir should not have any grudges against the government of India. "What in the last 70 years the leadership of India, especially the Congress had built in this country, they have sold all that. They are selling roads, petrol pumps, airports, railway stations, power projects."

About Hurriyat conference, PDP chief said that what they (BJP) are doing, whether there is an activist, politician, or student, they put them in jail, so what’s the big deal about Hurriyat.

“If Jawaharlal Nehru had not been there and the secular culture, which is being destroyed now, I don't think Jammu and Kashmir would have been a part of this country today," she said.

Mufti said the Centre is lying that all the political leaders have been released from jails as many political leaders are still in jails.

Mehbooba Mufti also admitted that the leaders in her party have run away but said that the workers in her party are still standing as they have been with the party before, and they are with them even today. (KNS)
