Srinagar, June 30 (KNS): Students from different colleges across Kashmir Valley Thursday protested against the sale of liquor here and damnded complete ban on its ale and consumption in the state.
The protesting students assembled outside Srinagar’s Praptap Park and were demanding ban on Liquor.
“Government should impose ban on the sale and consumption of liquor in the valley. Selling and consumption of liquor hurts emotions and sentiments of Muslim community in the state,” protesting students said.
The students were silently holding placards displaying, ‘Save Kashmir ban liquor, No to alcohol, ban liquor, save new generation from alcohol, I am more afraid of alcohol then my enemies’ bullets’.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The students told KNS that the selling and consumption of liquor should be banned at earliest so that the state could feel a sigh of relief from such kind of social evils.
“It is shame for the state administration who failed to impose ban on liquor in the state. We are living in Muslim majority state but the sale and consumption of alcohol is increasing day by day while the administration are acting as mute spectators,” they said, adding that if Bihar government can ban liquor then why can’t JK government.
Meanwhile, the protesters later dispersed peacefully. (KNS)
