Prof Fida will be remembered long, apart from his scholarship, for his liberalism and his high respect for human values. A sweet person by temperament, he was not available for any controversy . But, then, he would explain his point of view on issues strongly. Prof Fida had a rare distinction of having a good library on Kashmir.
Prof Fida's passing away is a great loss, particularly to the people of Kashmir. (KNS)
