Srinagar, Jun 11 (KNS): Stating that some elements are playing politics over separate townships issues, Kashmiri Pandits on Saturday said that at least 40 Pandit families are willing to return Kashmir.
Addressing a presser here at local hotel, president of Jammu and Kashmir reconciliation Forum, Sandeep Maawa said that some Muslim brothers have offered their houses to them and have assured that, “We will open our hearts and doors for you (pandits).”
“Some of the Pandits have their property in Kashmir while some among them sold it. If Muslim brothers will offer accommodation to Pandit brothers then it will automatically defeat the elements who are politicizing the separate townships issue for Pandits,” Maawa said, adding that they also feel that establishing separate townships for them would not be a good step.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that if the majority in the state has claimed that they have some doubts over establishing separate townships for Pandits then what are the remedies. “One of my Muslim brother namely Nazir Ahmad had offered his house to accommodate the Pandit family in his house,” Maawa said.
“What should the Pandit families do who have sold their houses in Kashmir,” Maawa questioned. (KNS)
