Shabir Shah hails Pak PM’s speech at ECO summit

Urges world bodies to resolve Kashmir to prevent further loss of lives

Srinagar, Mar 02 (KNS): The incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabir Ahmad Shah on Thursday termed the speech of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) summit at Islamabad as “based on truth and reality”.
The heads of state and government from Iran, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan participated in the summit.
Sharif referred to Kashmir conflict in his concluding comments, saying “peaceful settlement of longstanding disputes, like Jammu and Kashmir, and alleviating sufferings of the Kashmiri people would greatly help in advancing the goals of stability and development of the entire region”.
Shah in a statement issued to press said Pakistan always exhibited magnanimity by inviting India towards resolution of all disputes but the latter “drenched in arrogance, not only used to find a way-out from talks but instead made failed attempts of isolating Pakistan by launching a baseless propaganda against the neighbouring country”.
“It is to our utmost satisfaction that despite India’s conspiracies, the world nations are consolidating their relations with Pakistan and we hope the international community intervenes in resolving the long-pending dispute of Kashmir,” Shah said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Shah also hailed the speech of Pakistan’s minister for law and justice, Zahid Hamid, at 34th session of the United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC) wherein he highlighted the human rights violations happening in Jammu Kashmir. “The world should, without any further delay, take notice of the grave human rights violations in the held Kashmir. The reason Indian forces continue to violate the human rights in J&K is the failure of rights bodies to take cognisance. This is extremely unfortunate on their part,” he said.
The pro-freedom leader termed the Indian representative’s speech in UNHRC as “big lie” while urging the UN, EU, and OIC to investigate the issue.
“We reiterate our appeal to world bodies to resolve the Kashmir dispute at the earliest so as to prevent the further loss of lives in this region,” Shah said. (KNS)
