Srinagar, Mar 20 (KNS): The Srinagar- Jammu National Highway connecting Kashmir with rest of the country continue to remain suspended for the fourth consecutive day on Sunday due to landslides at various places triggered by heavy rains from past five days here.
SSP Traffic National Highway, Zubair Ahmad Khan told KNS that due to the landslides at more than four places, the traffic remained suspended.
According to an official, hundreds of vehicles are stranded on the highway due to mudslide in the wee hours of this morning near Batote town thereby led to the closure of both Srinagar-Jammu and Batote-Kishtwar highways.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that while there is bit improvement in the weather condition, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) men are on job to clear the debris on the 300km long national highway.
He informed KNS that no new vehicles will be allowed to ply from the either sides till the entire stretch won’t be cleared and becomes safe for vehicular movement. (KNS)
