Baramulla, Apr 30 (KNS): Several electronic gadgets suffered damage after field staff of PDD restored snapped power supply in Dawaran Uri in north Kashmir's Baramulla.

As per reports the electricity supply was disrupted in the area some 15 days ago after electric transformer in the area suffered technical glitch. However on the arrival of transformer to the area triggered panic after electronic gadgets belonging to 25 households suffered shots with the restoration of electric supply in the area.

Eye witnesses told that few PDD field staff members once connected the transformer to the main line, big bangs were heard in the locality, causing severe damage to electronic items. Besides several residential houses and a nearby mosque saved however from turning into ashes in the incident.

They said soon after the damage, the PDD officials fled from the scene, and left hundreds of lives at risk. They said people of the area were eagerly waiting for electricity supply, but who knew the moment could be a disaster for the area.

The locals appealed to Deputy Commissioner Baramulla and Chief Engineer PDD to take strict action against the officials for their negligence, and demanded restoration of power supply in the area without any further delay.(KNS)
