Sai Mandir Sansthan Appoints Kashmiri Muslim as Trustee for New Temple Project in Anantnag

Anantnag, June 2 (KNS): At a time of debates over religious representation, a powerful story of unity is unfolding in Kashmir. Sai Mandir Sansthan, a Surat-based trust, has appointed Firdous Baba, a Kashmiri Muslim and social worker, as a trustee for its upcoming Sai Baba temple project in Anantnag.

The move sends a strong message of inclusivity and shared service. Baba, known for his work through Kashmir Sewa Sangh, has focused on education, healthcare, and skill development in conflict-affected areas. His appointment highlights the trust’s belief that service transcends religion.

Geeta Shroff, a women’s rights activist and trustee, will lead women-centric programs at the temple, aiming to empower Kashmiri women through education, healthcare, and vocational training. “Women in Kashmir will no longer be seen only as victims but as architects of a new tomorrow,” she said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Acharya Shyam Suresh, president of Sai Mandir Sansthan, described the project as a “Temple of Humanity” that showcases India’s civilisational confidence. “When a Hindu temple embraces a Muslim trustee, it reflects our values of unity and respect for diversity,” he said.

The trust’s response to recent tragedies in the region has been one of compassion and reconstruction. The Anantnag temple will include community services like free education, medical camps, and skill training for women and youth, aiming to create lasting opportunities for all.

Firdous Baba said, “I am a Muslim, yet entrusted with serving in a Sai Baba temple. This is the true spirit of India, where work matters more than identity, and compassion outweighs labels.”(KNS)
