Jammu, Oct 11 (KNS): A railway employee administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to a passenger who collapsed following a suspected cardiac arrest at Jammu Tawi Railway Station on Sunday, helping stabilise his condition before he was shifted to hospital, officials said.
According to a railway statement, the passenger had arrived at platforms 6 and 7 aboard Train No. 11077 Jhelum Express when he suddenly collapsed.
Bablu Kumar, an Assistant AC employee posted in the Electrical Department, noticed the passenger in distress and immediately administered CPR.

Kumar subsequently comforted the passenger and arranged an ambulance for further medical treatment.
With assistance from Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, the passenger was shifted to hospital.
Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Jammu, Vivek Kumar appreciated the employee's presence of mind and prompt response.
“The railway employee, with his presence of mind, knowledge of first aid and prompt decision, saved the precious life of a passenger. His act is an inspiration for all railway personnel,” the DRM said.
The railway authorities commended Kumar for his timely intervention and dedication to duty. (KNS)
