Srinagar, Oct 25 (KNS): Life is refusing to return to normalcy in Islamabad district as residents, including women, Sunday protested, despite rain, against the arrest of over dozens of youth by police from the past week after the area erupted against Zahid Rasool Bhat’s killing.
Reports said that women today grouped at Mattan Chowk demanding release of the youth. The protesters raised slogans against the Mufti-led government and police.
Inspector General of Police, Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gillani told KNS that 36 youth have been arrested from south Kashmir after the Udhampur incident took place.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe said that they will be released soon after counseling.
Peer Mohammad Hussain, Wakf Board Vice Chairman, told KNS that he appeals the police and the district administration to release the youth as early as possible so that the town returns to normal after two-weeks of abnormality. (KNS)
