Ganderbal, August 19(KNS): Police have arrested a 22-year-old woman in connection with the death of her 14-year-old sister, whose body was recovered earlier this week along the Batsar-Sehpora road in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
According to KNS, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, said that the investigation began immediately after the incident was reported. A case was registered, and an inquiry was launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
“Initial inputs suggested a possible kidnapping of two girls, with one later found dead. However, as the investigation progressed, including analysis of technical data and CCTV footage, the kidnapping angle was ruled out,” SSP Poswal said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
According to police, the deceased’s elder sister was taken into custody after her involvement came to light during the investigation. During questioning, she allegedly admitted to taking her sister to the location where an argument ensued. Police said she confessed to hitting her sister with a rod during the altercation, which led to her death.
“The accused has been arrested and presented before the court. All relevant evidence has been collected and submitted to the Magistrate,” the SSP added.(KNS).
