On programme of unified resistance leadership,

Resistance leaders stage protest

Srinagar, Dec 26 (KNS): On the programme of the unified resistance leadership, a large number of resistance leaders and workers of various resistance groups after Duhr Nimaaz staged a massive peaceful protest march from historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar towards Nowhatta Chowk for expressing solidarity with thousands of people arrested arbitrarily under draconian laws and held in miserable conditions at Kot Bhalwal, Kathua, Hira Nagar, Udhampur and various other jails which culminated with a peaceful sit-in against the arbitrary arrests.
On this occasion, acording to the statement issued to KNS, the protesting leaders and workers said these jails had been converted into infamous jails like Abu Gharib and Guantanamo Bay where political prisoners were facing both mental and physical torture and were being devoid of facilities necessary to be provided under the jail manual.
The resistance leaders and workers who participated in the protest march and sit-in included Muhammad Shafi Khan, Peer Saifullah, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Sofi Mushtaq Ahmad, Raja Mehraj Kalwal, Abdul Majeed Wani, Muhammad Yaseen Bhat, Farooq Ahmad Saudagar, Imtiyaz Haider, Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, Abdul Rashid Untoo, Muhammad Sidiq Shah and Jaffar Kashmiri besides others.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Denouncing the decision of the PDP-BJP coalition government of providing Domicile Certificates to West Pakistan refugees and the decision of the Supreme Court of India about the implementation of SARFEASI Act, the protesting leaders and workers said this was a ploy against abrogation of the special status of Jammu Kashmir and changing the demography of the state and demanded its withdrawal at the earliest.
They said the PDP-led coalition government was only taking anti-people decision and implementing the nefarious designs of the right wing extremist organisations of converting the Muslim-majority state into a Muslim-minority state and changing the demography of the region on the pattern of Israel.
The protesting leaders said PDP had become a collaborator of these extremist groups and was busy putting the lives of Kashmiri Muslims at auction while executing their anti-people decisions, which would not be accepted at any cost.
They said if these anti-Muslim and anti-Kashmir decisions were not stopped forthwith, a massive agitation would be launched whose results would be the responsibility of the ruling class in the state and their partners at New Delhi. (KNS)
