Hajra Begum, an old widow from Waripora Safapora is moving from pillar to post to register a complaint against her neighbour for not leaving fire gap between the houses, but no heed was paid to her repeated pleas before the helmsmen.
Eight months have passed since then Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Sarmad Hafiz assured her that matter will be solved within days but till now all the revenue officials are turning deaf ear to her pleas. Hajra, a poor lady claims that she has forward the application before the DC Ganderbal regarding the matter of fire gap between the houses before 7 months.”
Then DC Ganderbal had directed Tehsildar Lar and Naib Tehsildar Safapora to address the matter. “The NT Safapora assured me that work will be started within 10 days but he didn't do anything,” Hajra Begum said.
The poor old widow has no source of income. She is living with her adopted daughter and her husband.The whole family is run by her Son-in-law who works as a labourer. Hajra Begum said that when nothing was done on the directions of DC Ganderbal she again visited the DC office where new DC had assumed charge who knew nothing about the matter. “I met the new DC Ganderbal and he marked by application to ACR Ganderbal and ACR Ganderbal called the NT & Pathwari of Safapora on 11-06-2015 and gave directions to NT Safapora and Pathwari of Halqa Waripora and assured me we will solve the problem within days,” she said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“I am poor lady and don’t have money to bribe officials that’s why they are delaying the process. I appeal to Revenue Minister to intervene into the matter keeping in view my condition,” Hajra Begum said while crying.
When contacted ACR Ganderbal Naseer Ahmad Wani said that he will contact the NT Safapora and look into the matter. “NT Safapora advised me it’s the matter of civil court now you have to approach the civil court, I can’t do anything. It falls within the jurisdiction of Civil Court. Advice the concerned accordingly,” said ACR Ganderbal Naseer Ahmad.
Hajra alleged that despite directions from DC Ganderbal, ACR Ganderbal and NT Safapora are intentionally giving excuses. “Why they are not acting according to the directions. Have they taken money from my neighbour? For God sake ask them why they are doing this with poor old lady,” said Hajra.
