Members raise issues of public importance during Zero Hour


Srinagar, Oct 10 (KNS): The Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar Saturday assured the House that the Engineering faculty (BTech Computer Sciences) won’t be shifted from the North Campus of the Kashmir University.
Responding to a point raised by MLA Baramulla Javaid Hassan Beigg during the Zero Hour in the Legislative Assembly, the Minister said that the Engineering faculty at the North Campus would be augmented adequately with requisite infrastructure. He also said that new courses under Skill Development Initiative (SDI) would be introduced in the North Campus situated at Delina, Baramulla.
Meanwhile, several other members raised issues of public importance during the Zero Hour.
Divender Manyal called for adherence to J&K decentralization Act so that the SC candidates can also apply in other districts in the recently advertised posts of the J&K Police.
Mubarak Gul called for rehabilitation of the persons who have got dislocated as a result of Jhelum beautification project. He demanded for providing them plots in Rakh-e-Arth colony. He also called for fast-pacing the tourism projects undertaken in the old city Srinagar.
Hakeem Mohammad Yasin called for providing requisite facilities to the persons contemplating to start sheep/dairy farming. He also called for opening new units of Poultry, Animal Husbandry and Sheep rearing in Khansahab constituency.
Gulzar Ahmed Wani called for immediate restoration of roads in Shangus constituency.
Abid Ansari demanded adequate transportation facilities in the areas of Botakadal and Bahrar in Zadibal constituency. He also demanded allotment of Bahrar huts to the deserving persons.
Mohammad Akbar Lone called for immediate implementation of the Jhelum restoration project by which the bunds on the river would be repaired.
Bashir Ahmed Dar called for immediate filling up of 500 vacancies of Physical Education Teachers. He also called for providing ex-gratia relief on the pattern of Tangdhar accident to the victims of Kupwara road accident.
Rajiv Sharma called for strict adherence to the transfer policy in the education department.
Yawar Dilawar Mir called for framing of an transfer policy in police by which the police personnel would be posted in their parent divisions/zones.
Mumtaz Khan called for providing relief to the flood victims in Gulabgarh constituency besides setting up of seasonal education centres for Gujjars and Bakerwals.
Abdul Majid Bhat (Larmi) called for posting of doctors in Homshalibugh constituency.
Ravinder Raina called for increasing the honorarium of the personal assistants of MLAs besides increasing the ration money of police men.
Abdrul Rahim Rather called for taking necessary measures for prevention of Hepatitis-C.
Devender Singh Rana called for immediate appointment of language teachers in the State.
M Y Tarigami called for holding meeting for empanelment of new newspapers and also immediate framing of the new advertisement policy by the Information Department. Ali Mohammad Sagar called for identification of the persons involved in killings of the civilians and security forces during the last few months. He also demanded immediate compensation for the next of the kin of victims of fresh violence.
Usman Majid called for rationalization of power in Bandipora constituency besides completing the work on the grid station there.
Anjum Faizli called for immediate implementation of Social Welfare Scheme “Ladli Beti” in the state.
Shakti Raj Parihar called for opening of classes in satellite university campus at Doda.
Aijaz Ahmed Khan called for undertaking work on various PMGSY roads in Gool-Gulabgarh constituency besides providing relief to the residents of Uthas area who have not been rehabilitated after September 2014 floods.
Qamar Hussain demanded providing staff to the Degree College Thannamandi.
Romesh Arora demanded the next of the kin of the persons killed in recent border firing in his constituency be provided appointment under SRO-43 besides the farmers should also given adequate relief. He also called for improvement of the lift irrigation schemes in his constituency and also providing anti-venom injections in R S Pura. (KNS)
