Srinagar, Feb 24 (KNS): After officials asserted Jammu and Kashmir as ‘completely safe’ for visitors, the Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Saturday lauded Kashmiris for achieving the distinction of being a tourist place with zero crime record against tourists.
The Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman said that the characteristic of Kashmiri hospitality has remained intact despite being exposed to decades of conflict.
“Kudos! to people of #Kashmir that despite being exposed to brutalisation for decades due to the conflict, their inherent characteristic of kindness & hospitality is intact! They have achieved the distinction of being a tourist place with zero crime record against visitors/tourists!Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel,” Mirwaiz tweeted.
Earlier, the reports quoting a senior official of the northern state said in Kolkata on Friday said that Jammu and Kashmir is “completely” safe for visitors and tensions in the border areas have “little effect” on its tourism circuit.
Describing the last year’s attack on Amarnath yatris as an “isolated incident to scare away visitors”, the director of the tourism department in Kashmir, M A Shah, according to the reports had asserted that such attempts will not succeed. (KNS)
