LG Manoj Sinha Reviews Border Situation in J&K, Orders Evacuation of Vulnerable Villages

Srinagar, May 7 (KNS): In a high-level review amid escalating tensions along the border, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday took stock of the situation in all border districts, directing swift evacuation of residents from vulnerable areas and assuring that the administration is fully prepared to handle any eventuality.


Taking to X (formerly Twitter), LG Sinha informed that he conducted a comprehensive meeting with all senior administrative, police, and district officials, including the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of all border districts.

"Took stock of the situation in border districts of J&K UT with all the senior administrative, police & district officials including DCs of all the border districts. I'm closely monitoring the situation & govt is fully prepared to deal with any eventuality," the Lieutenant Governor posted according to KNS correspondent.

In a proactive move to safeguard civilian lives, LG Sinha has directed the DCs of the concerned districts to shift residents from vulnerable border areas to safer locations.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe emphasized the need for providing complete support to the displaced villagers, including arrangements for boarding, lodging, food, medical care, and transportation.

"I've also directed the DCs for shifting of villagers from vulnerable areas to safer locations and ensuring boarding, lodging, food, medicare and transportation. We will ensure safety of every citizen. Jai Hind!" he added.

The administration has ramped up its preparedness to respond to any emergency situation and ensure the safety and well-being of the border residents. The LG's assurance comes as a strong message of solidarity and readiness from the UT administration during a time of heightened alert along the border. (KNS)
