Kupwara, May 21 (KNS): The Kupwara police arrested militant associate with 03 Grenades and 58 Rounds of AK-47 in the Sogam area of Kupwara District. 

According to a Police statement, reads on the basis of specific information regarding the movement of ANE's, Kupwara Police along with 28 RR and 162 CRPF established a special Naka at Wani Dorussa Sogam.

During checking one person were found in suspicious condition, on seeing the search party tried to escape from the spot but was chased and apprehended by the search party. 

The apprehended person on preliminary questioning disclosed their identity as, Abdul Rashad Lone S/O: Ghulam Mustafa Lone R/O: Nagam Keran Kupwara.

On their personal search, 03 Grenades and 58 Rounds of AK-47 were recovered from his possession which they were to provide to militants. 
In this context a Case F.I.R No. 27/2021 U/S 7/25 Arms Act & 3/4 Explosive Substance Act has been registered in Police Station Sogam and further investigation into the matter is under process.(KNS)
