Authorities impose restrictions in Srinagar areas

Srinagar, Apr 12 (KNS): Authorities imposed restrictions in parts of Srinagar city while a complete shutdown is being observed across the Valley againstbthe civilian killings in Khudwani area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district.
The shutdown call was given by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik against the killing of four civilians near a gunfight site at Khudwani Kulgam on Wednesday.
Officials said that restrictions were imposed in Srinagar’s old city to thwart any possible protest against the civilian killings in Kulgam.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
"Your police seeks cooperation of citizens for maintaining order and ensuring peace. Today you will find restrictions in some parts of city # Srinagar. While it is a cause of inconvenience, we assure these control orders are temporary. For any assistance pl dial 100," police tweeted.
Resistance leaders, Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umer Farooq have been placed under house arrest while Yasin Malik is in police custody. (KNS)
