Srinagar August 22 (KNS): Kashmir’s trade and industry bodies have paid glowing tribute to Mian Bashir Ahmad Laaravi, a veteran spiritual leader, who recently passed away after a prolonged illness. 

A delegation of Joint Organizations of Industries and Trade (JOINT), an umbrella organization of as many as 35 associations related to business and industry, went the ancestral home of Mian Bashir Ahmad Laaravi in Wangat village in Kangan area of the central Kashmir district on Sunday. 

They delegation met the grieved family and offered its condolences on the demise of prominent Gujjar leader. They expressed grief and sorrow over the death of Mian Sahib.

Pertinently, Mian Sahib has also been a minister in Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah's cabinet. He was honoured with the Padma Bhushan for his extraordinary service for the Gujjar-Bakarwal community and other downtrodden groups.

The JOINT delegation said that Main Sahib will be always remembered for his purity and sincere services to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the Gujjar community. He had always been on forefront for playing his role for the upliftment of the poor people in this region. The delegation said that Mian Sahib will also be remembered as a great religious and spiritual personality of this region. The loss due to the demise of Mian Sahib is irreparable.
