Srinagar, August 24(KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has announced the cancellation of the OMR-based written examination for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical) in the Power Development Department, conducted earlier today.
The decision comes after an unforeseen disruption at one of the 35 examination centres due to weather-related exigencies.
As per the official notification issued by Reyaz Ahmad Malik (JKAS), Controller of Examination, the exam was initially scheduled to be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM across 35 designated venues in Jammu and Srinagar districts. However, in light of adverse weather conditions, the examination was rescheduled to begin at 12:00 Noon.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Despite successful conduct of the examination at 34 centres, authorities confirmed that the exam could not be held at one venue, leading to procedural inconsistencies. In the interest of fairness and transparency, the Board has decided to cancel the entire examination and conduct it afresh for all candidates who had appeared or were scheduled to appear today.
"The fresh date(s) for the conduct of the said examination shall be notified separately," the Board stated, urging all concerned candidates to regularly check the JKSSB website (www.jkssb.nic.in) for updates.(KNS).
