Srinagar, Mar 06 (KNS): Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Wednesday expressed concern over the politicization of the state’s tribal populace by various political groups, terming it unfortunate and an unacceptable trend.
In a statement issued to KNS, Kadfeen said that the tribal population scattered across the state of Jammu and Kashmir has been battling plethora of hardships for their rights and entitlements and that the successive regimes in the state have done little for the upliftment of this community. “However, at present, it is quite unfortunate that this community is being turned into a poll plank by state’s various political groups who are trying to exploit the squalid conditions the tribal populace lives in at present,” said Kadfeen.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The Congress leader reiterated further that for the employment generation and education of the tribal population, the previous coalition of PDP and BJP did nothing on ground and instead preferred building castles in the air. He added that there hasn’t been a single school built for the tribal population and that the healthcare facilities are nowhere existent on ground. He added that it was Congress alone that took revolutionary measures for the community’s upliftment and that the party didn’t shy away from highlighting the issues these people face and pitched for their redressal in the highest corridors of power.
