Srinagar, Oct 1 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson and senior BJP leader Dr Darakshan Andrabi on Thursday hailed the youth of the Valley for turning out in large numbers at a mega blood donation camp here, calling their participation an act of unmatched humanity and a reflection of the region's enduring spirit of service.
Speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) at the camp, Dr Andrabi said the younger generation's willingness to donate blood for strangers demonstrated a rare and selfless commitment to saving lives. The youth of today, and the love they have for humanity — one is to say it out loud, and to do it and show it. To remove blood from your veins and to save the lives of others — there can be no greater passion for humanity than this, she said.
The Waqf Board chairperson noted that youth-led organisations and NGOs in the region have been engaged in such humanitarian work for years, and said their efforts deserved both recognition and support. We need such people, we need such NGOs. This passion was already there in the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, she said.
Dr Andrabi made special mention of women donors at the camp, pointing out that several had donated blood multiple times.

What can be greater than this? Language is nothing. This world runs by action, she added, while congratulating organiser Aijaz, an advocate, and other youth for putting together the mega blood donation camp.
Underlining the life-saving significance of blood donation, Dr Andrabi said, With each drop of their blood, how many lives will be saved — only those people know this, who need a drop of blood. At that time, even their relatives run away.
She offered prayers for the donors and called for a broader awakening of compassion across the region. May Allah accept their sacrifice, and may this humanity awaken in all of us. May we be useful to each other, useful to humanity. May the humanity in Jammu and Kashmir awaken more, and may we work for each other, she said.
Stressing that blood cannot be bought with money, she said, Not a single drop has any value in money. You will say, give us a drop of blood, we will give you crores — but no one gives. Only their passion, their faith, and this humanity, which we saw here today. (KNS)
