Srinagar, Oct 29 (KNS) : Displaying exceptional skill, teamwork, and determination, the Jammu and Kashmir Girls Roll Ball Team clinched the bronze medal in the 18th Roll Ball National Championship 2025, held in Agra from October 25 to 28. The remarkable performance stands as a testament to the growing strength of girls’ participation in sports across J&K and highlights the region’s commitment to gender equality and empowerment through athletics.
Led by captain Qurat-ul-Ain, who scored 22 goals, the highest ever tally recorded by a J&K girls’ team in a national event, the team showcased both confidence and consistency. Her outstanding effort also earned her a new bicycle from the federation as recognition for her remarkable performance.
In a hard-fought semi-final, J&K narrowly lost to Haryana by 2–1, before sealing third place overall in the U/14 category.

Promoting gender equality in sports is central to our mission, and the government is committed to expanding facilities and opportunities for them across J&K,” she said.
Expressing her delight, Nuzhat Gul, Secretary, J&K Sports Council, remarked, “This medal is a proud moment for all of J&K. Our girls continue to set new benchmarks in national events. The Sports Council remains dedicated to nurturing talent, building inclusive infrastructure, and ensuring that sports become a channel of empowerment for every girl in J&K.”
