Jammu, Oct 25 (KNS) : A Volleyball Tournament under the Civic Action Programme-2025-26, organized by JKAP 8th Battalion, commenced at Miran Sahib, Jammu, on October 24, 2025. The tournament was formally inaugurated by Sh. Suram Singh, JKPS (SSP) Commandant JKAP 8th Bn.
According to a press release issued, Matches were played between Army Public School, Miran Sahib, and Govt. Boys High School, Kotli Shah Doula, as well as between JK Public School, Kunjwani, and Mother India Secondary School, R.S. Pura.
Addressing the gathering, the Commandant highlighted the vital role of Jammu and Kashmir Police in fostering stronger community relations and promoting youth engagement through sports. He emphasized that sports not only build character but also keep young people away from social evils.

The event drew a large audience, including school staff and prominent local personalities, who appreciated the efforts of JKAP 8th Battalion for providing a platform to nurture youth talent through sports.
The day concluded with the distribution of participation certificates by Bhupinder Singh, DySP JKAP-8th Bn. The tournament, which includes matches for both boys and girls, will continue on a regular basis and is scheduled to culminate in the first week of November 2025.
The officers and staff of JKAP 8th Battalion played an active role in ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the event, which reflected true sportsmanship and unity between police and the public.(KNS)
