Srinagar, 28 Oct (KNS) : As part of the Mental Health Awareness Month being observed from October 10 to November 10, the Advanced Centre for Mental Health and Addiction Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, SKIMS Medical College, Srinagar, organised an awareness lecture on “Stress, Self-Harming Behaviours & Prevention” with the students of the Department of Psychology at Government Degree College (GDC), Anantnag.
The session featured insightful talks by eminent experts in the field. Dr Masood Maqbool, Associate Professor, Clinical Psychology, delivered an engaging lecture on the importance of stress management and the prevention of self-harm and suicide. Dr Mohd Sameer Khan, Assistant Professor of Psychiatric Social Work, SKIMS Medical College, spoke on “Substance Abuse among Youth”, shedding light on the rising challenge of addiction and discussing effective strategies for prevention and intervention.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The sessions concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, during which students actively participated and shared their perspectives on mental health challenges faced by today’s youth.
At the end of the program, the Principal of GDC Anantnag expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Abdul Majid, Head, Department of Psychiatry, and Prof. Fazlul Qadir Parray, Principal, SKIMS Medical College, Srinagar, for their collaboration in organising the event.
