Poonch, Dec 10 (KNS): Expressing concern over shelving of model village project in Poonch, Youth National Conference Provincial President Ajaz Jan on Sunday asked the state government to come clear on this important issue.
In a statement issued to KNS, after touring far off areas of Poonch and Mandi blocks, Ajaz Jan said that the model villages is one of the vital projects aimed at transforming villages from under developed to developed ones and ensuring basic amenities to the people.
“The National Conference government led by Omar Abdullah had taken several initiatives and completed all requisite formalities and after that sanctioned model village projects in Arai, Saujiyan, Azmabad and Khanetar villages of Poonch”, he said adding that the work had also been started on these projects.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“It's unfortunate that these projects have now been shelved by present government for unknown reasons” Jan said. He decried this anti-people step and lambasted the government for depriving people of development just because of political contingencies.
Jan also asked Government to clear pending liabilities of MGNREGA to ease burden on both department and people and also to fill up vacant posts in newly sanctioned CD Blocks.
He also asked the government to ensure provision of material under MGNREGA to ensure continuity of works. (KNS)
