Jammu, Jun 17 (KNS): In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Jammu and Kashmir Police Department on Wednesday ordered the transfer and adjustment of 55 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) with immediate effect, officials said.
The order, issued by Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, comes in the wake of recent promotions of several DSPs and is seen as a strategic move to rejig the police machinery across the Union Territory.
As per the first list of adjustments accessed news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), Sanjay Gupta has been posted as DSP CID SB Ramban, while Riyaz Mustafa has been shifted to DSP CTC Lethpora. Mir Zahid has been given charge of Arms and Ammunition at Police Headquarters, and Arif Ahmad Ahanger has been assigned to DSP STC Sheeri.
Ashwani Kumar has been moved to the Anti-Corruption Bureau, while Nasir Syed Kirmani has been posted as DSP CICE Srinagar. Tahir Ahmad will now head the IT Crime Wing at Police Headquarters, and Iftikhar Ahmad Mir has been transferred to PTS Manigam.
Ramesh Kumar Pandita has been posted to SKPA Udhampur, while Raj Kumar Dhar and Sunil Kumar Ganjoo have been assigned to STC Talwara and CID Headquarters, respectively.
Javaid Akhter has been given charge of 1 JKAP Women, while Ajay Bhat has been posted to 1 JKAP Border and Arun Kotwal to STC Talwara. Vijay Kotwal has been moved to SIA Jammu, while Mohd Araf and Shabir Ahmed have been assigned to 4 JKAP Sector and 5 JKAP IR, respectively.
Kulbir Singh, Chaman Gorka, Sanjeev Kumar, Sunil Kumar, and Jag Jiwan Ram have been posted to various JKAP IR battalions and CID units, according to the order.
Naveen Angral has been posted as DSP Security Airport Jammu, while Som Raj and Yog Raj have been moved to 1 JKAP Border and 9 JKAP IR, respectively. Yasir Arfat, Hargopal Singh, and Lateef Ahmad have been assigned to 20 JKAP IR, 11 JKAP IR, and Railways Kashmir, respectively.
In a significant inter-departmental transfer list, Showkat Ahmad Bhat has been moved from DSP PCR Kashmir to DSP HQ Pulwama, while Albeena Malik has been transferred from CICE Jammu to DSP SDRF Jammu.
Shahjhan Choudhary has been posted as DSP HQ Baramulla from SIA Jammu, while Kosheen Koul has been moved from CID SB Samba Kathua to DSP 16 JKAP IR. Zafar Mahdi has been transferred from SIA Kashmir to DSP HQ Bandipora.
Kulwant Singh has been posted as DSP CID CI Baramulla from PTS Manigam, while Sukhdev Singh has been transferred from Traffic Samba Kathua to DSP 18 JKAP IR. Mohd Rafee Rather has been moved from DSP HQ Bandipora to DSP CID SB Srinagar.
Tariq Ahmad Tak has been posted as DSP Traffic Anantnag from CTC Lethpora, while Nazir Ahmad has been assigned as DSP 23 JKAP IR. Abdul Aziz Ganai has been moved from LCMA Srinagar to DSP 11 JKAP Sector, and Kubra Nazir has been transferred from Security Kashmir to DSP ANTF Kashmir.
Khurshid Ahmad has been posted as DSP 11 JKAP IR from ANTF Kashmir, while Bharat Sharma has been moved from CID CI Kathua to SDPO Akhnoor. Khumukhtar Dev has been transferred from STC Talwara to DSP 24 JKAP IR.
Virender Gupta has been posted as DSP CID SB Jammu from SDPO Akhnoor, while Vijay Singh has been moved from PCR Jammu to DSP SB Samba Kathua. Kirpal Singh has been transferred from 16 JKAP IR to DSP 18 JKAP IR.
Sunil Gupta has been posted as DSP Traffic Samba Kathua from 7 JKAP Sector, while Ashiq Hussain has been moved from CICE Kashmir to DSP 10 JKAP IR.
Monika Thakur has been transferred from CICE Jammu to DSP SOG Baramulla, while Yasir Farooq Baig has been moved from SOG Baramulla to DSP SIA Kashmir. Manisha Kumari has been posted as DSP CICE Jammu from SOG Ramban, and Neeraj Badyal has been transferred from SOG Kandi to DSP CICE Jammu Rajouri.
Showket Ahmad has been moved from EOW Srinagar to DSP LCMA Bukhari Srinagar, while Mir Afaq Ahmad has been posted as DSP 10 JKAP IR from 6 JKAP. Hafizullah Mir has been transferred from CID CI Pulwama to DSP 2 JKAP Women, while Pir Atiquallah has been moved from 13 JKAP to DSP DAR Handwara.
Neeraj Bhagat has been posted as DSP 18 JKAP IR from 7 JKAP Sector, while Ashwani Kumar has been transferred from 22 JKAP IR to DSP 12 JKAP IR.
The order also stated that DSP SOG Darhal will hold the additional charge of DSP SOG Kandi, Rajouri, until further orders. Similarly, DSP DAR Ramban has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of DSP SOG Ramban.
All officers have been directed to be relieved from their current postings forthwith, the order added. (KNS).
