Srinagar, Oct 16 (KNS) : The Jammu and Kashmir administration has ordered the implementation of 10 bagless days for students of classes 6 to 8 in all government schools across the Union Territory, officials said on Friday.
The move is aimed at promoting experiential learning and vocational exposure in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, they said.
In a circular issued by the Directorate of Samagra Shiksha, J&K, Administrative Officer Ashwini Kumar said the initiative is intended to strengthen competency-based education among students through structured skill-based activities integrated into the school curriculum.
"The beauty of the bagless days lies in how it exemplifies the right touch of vocationalisation of education in the context of meaningful physical participation of all students through experiential activities using all 3Hs — Head, Hand and Heart," the circular said.

The guidelines, it said, will help schools implement the activities in a systematic manner.
Chief Education Officers of all districts have been directed to circulate the guidelines to Higher Secondary, High and Middle schools where classes 6 to 8 are operational, and to ensure implementation of the programme "in letter and spirit" as envisioned under NEP 2020.
Districts have further been asked to submit a consolidated monthly report by the 5th of every month through email to the directorate. (KNS)
