Around 150 customers interact with senior officials

Srinagar, Nov 5 (KNS): J&K Bank on Thursday held the second meeting of its Customer Care Town Hall series in Anantnag, bringing around 150 customers face-to-face with senior officials and branch managers to discuss banking grievances, service delivery and growing risks associated with digital financial fraud.

The meeting, organised through the bank's Anantnag Zonal Office, provided customers an opportunity to raise concerns about banking services, seek clarification on grievance redressal procedures and share feedback directly with officials responsible for branch-level operations.

General Manager Customer Care Narjay Gupta chaired the meeting in the presence of General Manager and Divisional Head Kashmir Arshad Qadri, Chief Risk Officer Altaf Hussain Kira and Zonal Head Anantnag Khavar Meraj Handoo.

A key focus of the interaction was the growing threat of cyber fraud and the misuse of bank accounts as mule accounts, where accounts are used to receive or transfer funds on behalf of others.

Customers were cautioned against allowing third parties to operate or use their accounts for financial transactions, given the risks associated with such activities.

Addressing the gathering, Gupta said direct interaction between customers and branch managers was essential for identifying shortcomings in banking services and ensuring corrective measures at the operational level.

“By listening to customers alongside our Branch Managers, we can see where our processes need to work better and act on that feedback at the branch level.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThat is how we address grievances, make banking simpler, safer and more responsive to the people we serve,” he said.

Bank officials stressed the importance of resolving customer complaints within prescribed turnaround times and keeping complainants informed about the status of their grievances.

The participation of all branch managers from the Anantnag Zone enabled them to hear customer concerns firsthand and identify areas requiring improvements in service delivery.

During the programme, a resource person from Cyber Police Anantnag delivered a presentation on cyber fraud, explaining common methods used by fraudsters and precautions customers should adopt while using digital banking platforms.

The interaction also covered safe banking practices and measures to prevent misuse of accounts for suspicious financial transactions.

In-Charge Transaction Monitoring Cell Bilal Ahmad Kuchay, cluster heads, Lead District Managers of Anantnag and Kulgam and other senior officials attended the meeting.

The Anantnag programme followed the launch of the Customer Care Town Hall series in Baramulla earlier this week.

The bank said the initiative would be extended to all its zonal offices across Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and other parts of the country, with schedules and venues to be communicated to customers in advance. (KNS)
