Srinagar, April 13 (KNS): Hizb ul Mujahideen Chief Syed Salahudin has appealed the international human rights bodies to take notice of the killings in Handwara and expressed surprise on their silence over the killings.
In a statement to KNS, Hizb spokesman Saleem Hashmi said that the chief paid rich tributes to the Iqbal Ahmad, Nayeem Qadir Bhat and Raja Begum who were killed in Handwara by forces and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.
“Why are the international human rights bodies watching this bloody mayhem as mute spectators? What do the Indian army and Mehbooba-Modi government want to prove by killing youth and woman,” Hashmi quoted the Hizb chief as saying.

“Raja Begum’s family has given sacrifices for the struggle of Kashmir as one of the member. Ghulam Ahmad Mir, a medical practioner, was brutally tortured by forces and he died soon after his release. Mir’s children are still in the shock,” he said.
Slamming the state government, the Hizb chief said that the present government is an “equally responsible” in Handwara killings.
The Hizb chief also lashed out at the state police, saying that the “black sheep in the police ranks are killing people of their own nation for promotion and few bucks.”
He also called upon the Hurriyat leaders “to unite and guide the nation in the prevailing situation.” (KNS)
