Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq’: Karra Rolls Out Protest Calendar

Srinagar, July 31 (KNS): Tariq Hameed Karra, President of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) & MLA Shalteng has announced a peaceful protests from August 1 to 21, demanding the restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking to media, Karra said as part of its ‘Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq’ campaign, the Congress will organise various programmes from August 1 to 21. “We will observe August 5 as a black day. It is the blackest day in the history of J-K. There will also be a hunger strike on August 9,” he said.

He said that ruling National Conference’s (NC) claim that the Congress did not consult it for its protest programmes, Karra said the NC is in the government while the Congress supports the government from outside

He also said that the protest programme will begin with a mass contact campaign from August 1 to 4, where party workers will visit different districts, markets, and neighborhoods to engage with shopkeepers, traders, and the general public.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

On August 5, the Congress will observe Black Day to mark the anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. From August 9 to 20, Congress leaders and workers will stage peaceful hunger strikes at various locations. The entire protest will conclude on August 21 with a large public gathering, he said.

Since the Monsoon Session of Parliament ends on August 21, the Congress will observe the developments in Delhi and decide the next steps after that, he added.(KNS)
