Srinagar, Sep 29 (KNS): Expressing its resentment over the halt enforced on ambulance vehicles run by several medical voluntary organizations in valley and the arrest of several employees affiliated to these NGO’s, Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir (JeI) strongly condemns this atrocious behavior by government forces and termed it undemocratic and inhumane act.
In a statement issued to KNS, JeI said, police and other security agencies detained several ambulances today at Karan-Nagar which belongs to Moomin Welfare Trust, SRO Batamaloo, Athrout, Yateem Foundation, Jamaiat-e-Ahle Hadith and other organizations and detained its employees as well, which is highly condemnable.
JeI said, during this ongoing peaceful public movement, these institutions have played an imperative role in serving society at its best. From July 8, these NGO’s are at the service of society and besides providing drugs and medicines to needy, they ferried thousands of injured from one place to another.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThis tireless effort by these NGO’s towards their own people proved eye-sore for the government machinery and it is why today police stopped them for acting further.
“Forces unleash a reign of terror particularly since July 8. Ninety innocent and unarmed youth have been killed, fifteen thousand men and women brutally injured among which there are one thousand of those who lost their vision fully due to indiscriminate use of pellets fired by government forces. In these circumstances, valleys NGO’s played an effective role in serving society at a time when entire Kashmiri nation was in distress”, JeI said.
Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir termed this atrocious behavior towards such essential institutions as undemocratic and anti-human and urges authorities to release all who have been detained in this connection. (KNS)
