Srinagar, Feb 12 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) chairman and MLA Khansahib Hakim Mohammad Yasin has condemned the killing of two civilians in during an encounter between militants and Army at Frisal Kulgam, said “government has failed to protect people”.
In a statement issued to KNS, Hakim Yasin has lashed out at the BJP-PDP coalition government and said they have given free hand to the forces to kill the innocent people of Kashmir.
He said that government is claiming maximum restraints are being taken while dealing with the civilians in Kashmir, but on the grounds the situation is contrasting.
Hakim Yasin said that in assembly session they demanded an judicial probe on civilian killings, but the present government snubbed it completely.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He condemned the forces for resorting to indiscriminate and brute force resulting in death of two civilians and injuries to scores out of which two have been grievously injured.
The legislator ridiculed the recent assurances of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti that civilians will be secured in such times. He asked why the forces were not following the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). “SOP has been confined to papers and rhetoric. It is clear that the forces resorted to indiscriminate use of force and a killing spree,” Hakim said. (KNS)
