GULMARG, January 23 (KNS) – Tourist arrivals have surged at the world-famous resort of Gulmarg following heavy snowfall across the Kashmir Valley. This prompted authorities to reopen the vital Gulmarg-Tangmarg road after a successful snow-clearance operation.
Tehsildar Tangmarg, Syed Eyed Qadri, speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), confirmed that vehicular traffic has been fully restored on the route. “The road was initially blocked by the heavy snowfall but has now been cleared by around 90 percent by teams using specialized machinery,” he said.

He added that anyone facing inconvenience during travel can contact the provided helpline numbers and will be assisted.
He further stated that the fresh snowfall has significantly boosted tourist numbers, adding that the influx is expected to increase further in the coming days. (KNS)
