Govt busy in creating false narrative on Kashmir: JKPM

Srinagar, Dec 07 (KNS): J&K Peoples Movement (JKPM) has said that the BJP led central government is busy using its full energy in creating a false narrative about Kashmir, as a result, the people of J&K are suffering on various fronts.

In a statement issued to KNS, JKPM Vice President solicitor Syed Iqbal Tahir said the BJP-led government had claimed that after the abrogation of Article 370, a new era of development would start in Jammu and Kashmir. “But on the ground, nothing has changed. He further said that J&K has been gripped in severe administrative inertia and its people have been suffering on all fronts,” he said.

JKPM leader alleged that post-August 2019 a huge gulf has got formed between the administration and the common masses and the claim of good governance and prompt delivery of services remains a pipe dream.

He further said that our educated youth suffering due to wanton unemployment, people associated with business and trade are at the brink of starvation. “During the harsh winter, people have to face unscheduled power cuts in Kashmir and there has been a steep hike in prices of petrol, diesel, LPG cylinders, pulses, vegetables and other essential items,” he said.

“The administration is clueless and people don’t know where they should get their issues redressed,” Iqbal Tahir alleged in his statement. (KNS)
