Govt. deliberately turning vital developmental projects defunct in JK: Kadfeen

Srinagar, Oct 30 (KNS): Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary has slammed the government over its constant inaction in setting up of International Trade Centre (ITC) which earlier was projected as a big possible boost to Jammu and Kashmir’s crises ridden economy.

Kadfeen said that instead of mitigating the sufferings of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the government is inventing new ways and means to terrorise them and leave their economy in shreds.

He said the abrogation was Article 370 was projected by the Modi government as a game-changer in the overall developmental scenario of Jammu and Kashmir. However, on the ground, there is nothing visible on the ground except chaos and confusion.

He added that the government’s failure to take timely action for setting up of International Trade Centre (ITC) at Pampore resulted in blocking of Rs 3.94 crore.

“The land measuring 371 kanals and 6.5 marlas was transferred in favour of Director Handicrafts by the State Government for establishment of ITC. However, nothing on ground is visible. Ironically, an amount of Rs 1.01 crore out of Rs five crore was advanced to R&B Department for construction of fencing around the land. Till date, anything visible is limited to the papers only. The project instead of going any good has been turned into a parasite by the current regime on the exchequer,” said Kadfeen(KNS)
