While taking strong notice of the arrest of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat provincial president Ameer Hamza Shah and his associate Showkat Ahmad Dar by the army and police, Chairman Hurriyat (G) Sayed Ali Geelani demanded their immediate release.
According to a statement issued to KNS, while strongly condemning the arrests of the citizens in the nocturnal raids in downtown areas especially in Nowhata by the police, vandalizing of household items, breaking of windowpanes and use of brutal and excessive force against the protestors, Hurriyat (G) chairman appealed for peaceful protest demonstrations after the Zuhar prayers on 30 August Sunday against these acts of state terrorism and said that the Mufti-BJP government has made the lives of the common people hell and the human rights violation in the entire state has increased to the alarming level.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
In a statement to KNS, Hurriyat (G) chairman said that a pro-freedom leader and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat provincial president Ameer Hamza Shah addressed the public in Busho village of Kulgam district on 28 August during the Friday prayers. After the prayers he was resting in a house in the locality and the army cordoned off the said house and called in Kulgam police who later arrested him with another associate for unknown reasons. While terming this arrest as unjustified and beyond ones understanding, Hurriyat conference demanded immediate release of the duo. (KNS)
