Baramulla, Feb 13 (KNS): A programme titled “Dardnama: From Silence to Strength – A Testament of Courage and Survival” was organised by the Save Youth Save Future Foundation at Government Degree College Uri in Baramulla district on Thursday, bringing together families affected by terrorism over the past three decades.
According to organisers, nearly 100 families from Boniyar and Uri tehsils participated in the event, including those who lost relatives in militant violence and cross-border shelling.
The foundation said the initiative aimed to provide a platform for victims whose cases were either undocumented or remained unaddressed for years.
During the interaction, participants shared their experiences and highlighted pending issues related to relief, rehabilitation and employment assistance.
Chairman of the Foundation Wajahat Farooq Bhat said many affected families had remained “voiceless” despite suffering losses for over 30 years.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said the programme sought to document genuine cases in a structured manner and pursue them with the concerned authorities.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Syed Altaf Hussain Musvi, who attended as chief guest, assured participants that the district administration would examine the grievances raised and address eligible cases on priority. He was accompanied by other officials.
Senior office bearers of the foundation, including Zonal President North Kashmir Ishfaq Ahmed Bhat and other coordinators, were present at the event. The proceedings were conducted by Zia-ul-Islam.
The foundation said details of pending cases, including those of widows, orphans and disabled victims, were documented during the programme and would be taken up with authorities for necessary action.(KNS).
