Srinagar, Dec 8 (KNS): Srinagar Police have booked several hotels, homestays and houseboats for violating mandatory Form-C reporting norms under the Immigration and Foreigners Act, officials said on Monday.
A police spokesperson said five First Information Reports (FIRs) were registered following routine checks of accommodation facilities in Rajbagh, Khanyar, Lal Bazar, Nishat and Ram Munshi Bagh areas.
In Rajbagh, Hotel Blossoms, Hotel Grand MS and Hotel Golden Forest were found allowing foreign nationals to check in without submitting Form-C to the Foreigners Registration Office, resulting in FIR No. 65/2025 under Sections 8 and 23-B at Police Station Rajbagh.
Hotel Khyber in Khanyar was also booked for failing to produce proof of Form-C submission despite repeated instructions, leading to FIR No. 57/2025 at Police Station Khanyar.
In Lal Bazar, IMY Home Stay in Nowabagh Bagwanpora was booked for allegedly concealing the stay of a foreign national from Israel and failing to submit the mandatory online Form-C, resulting in FIR No.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel60/2025 at Police Station Lal Bazar.
A house owner in Nishat, Mohammad Ashraf Zargar of Vakeel Colony, Brein, was booked under FIR No. 101/2025 for non-compliance with Form-C reporting requirements.
In Ram Munshi Bagh, four houseboats — Floating Castle, Best View, Crystal Palace and Lake Palace — were booked for accommodating foreign guests from Taiwan, Russia, Romania and Spain without mandatory reporting, leading to FIR No. 94/2025 at Police Station Ram Munshi Bagh under Sections 7, 14 and 16 of the Act.
The spokesperson said investigations are ongoing to determine any further linkages. He added that all operators of hotels, guest houses, houseboats and homestays must strictly comply with Form-C submission norms, warning that non-compliance is a serious offence under law.
Srinagar Police reiterated that the action is aimed at safeguarding national security and maintaining public order.(KNS).
