New Delhi, May 18 (KNS): Jailed Member of Parliament from Baramulla, Engineer Rashid, was on Monday granted interim bail by a court here to enable him to attend the last rites of his father, Haji Khazir Mohammad Sheikh, who passed away at AIIMS Delhi following a prolonged illness.
The 85-year-old deceased was undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Srinagar before being shifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the national capital for advanced medical care, where he breathed his last.
Speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) AIP party spokesperson said soon after the news of his father's demise, the court allowed the interim bail to the incarcerated MP, paving the way for him to offer funeral prayers and participate in the final rites as per religious customs.

He said around 4 PM Er. Rashid will reach Srinagar airport.
Meanwhile, condolences poured in from across Jammu and Kashmir, with political leaders, party workers, and well-wishers expressing solidarity with the bereaved family. They also prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. (KNS)
